In 2012, the Seabourn fleet achieved top rankings in a number readers’ polls, and critics, travel agents & experts agree.
We take a look at Seabourn’s success over 2012 – for example, did you know that this is the third consecutive year Seabourn has topped Conde Nast Traveler’s poll, and the fourth year in a row the company has topped “Travel + Leisures” poll in their annual surveys, with readers of the two very high-profile publications in the industry naming Seabourn the “Best Small-Ship Cruise Line”?
At the time of winning the Conde Nast Traveler’s poll, Seabourn President Richard Meadow said:
“We’re extremely pleased that “Conde Nast Traveler readers named us the best once again. The readers continue to reward our dedicated and hard-working employees both at sea and ashore, who focus every day on providing our guests with the very finest travel experiences.”
And that’s not all, during 2012 Seabourn also maintained its perfect record of inclusion on Conde Nast Traveler’s “Gold List” of top global vacation choices. Seabourn has been included every year since the list has been published!
In addition, Porthole, the cruise-specific consumer magazine, named Seabourn Sojourn as the industry’s “Best Small Ship.” The company was also honoured with Porhole’s readers’ votes as “Best Luxury Line” and for offering the “Best Accommodation” too.

- “Best Spa on a Cruise Ship” – SpaFinder Wellness Reader’s Choice Award
- “Best Cruise Value” – Ocean & Cruise News published by World Ocean & Cruise Liner Society, in the highest, Ultra-Deluxe, 6-Star+ category.
- “Best Luxury Cruise Line” – Travel Weekly’s annual “Reader’s Choice Awards”.
- “Six Star Diamond Award” – American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.
Guidebook professionals also added to the awards. Cruise guidebook ‘Stern’s Guide to the Cruise Vacation’ awarded Seabourn’s entire fleet Six+ Black Stars, its highest rating. In addition, the Berlitz Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships awarded the Seabourn ships Five Stars.
Seabourn specialises in ultra-luxury, small ships that carry between 208 and 450 guests, all exclusively with ocean-view suites, and many with verandas.
