Things to do in Florida

Occupying around 66,000 square miles, as you can imagine there are plenty of things to see and do in Florida. To save you some hassle, here we’ve highlighted some of the best things to do near your cruise stops.

Walt Disney World will be at the top of many people’s lists – the definition of fun for all the family! It’s impossible not to smile as you see your favourite Disney characters walking around, not to mention all the fantastic rides and attractions.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re an avid space fanatic or mildly interested in what’s going on out there – Kennedy Space Centre will leave a lasting impression! It’s been used for every NASA space flight since 1968, and covers 219 square miles of land. You’ll feel the sense of history and human achievement with every step.

Why not try your hand at surfing at Ron Jon Surf School? It’s run by ex-pro surfer Craig Caroll, who will have you up to speed in no time. (Well, you might be able to stay upright by the end of your first session, at least.)

Crystal River is a great place for wildlife lovers: every winter a large manatee population heads this way, which has led to the area becoming officially protected. And it’s still very beautiful the rest of the year, too.

These are just a few examples of the things you can do in Florida, yet we’ve only scratched the surface.

Cruise lines currently offering cruises to Florida include Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Celebrity Cruises.
