First time visits to Melbourne for 2014 season

P&O cruises Pacific Pearl will be making Melbourne its home for the start of its roundtrip voyages in the 2014 season.

This week, P&O’s 2014 winter season programme has been released, and the itineraries feature over 75 cruises leaving from Brisbane, Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne. Alongside the longer cruises are 20 two to four night short breaks for those who don’t have the time for the luxury of longer cruises.

Pacific Pearl will make debut visits to new Aussie ports such as Robe, Kangaroo Island and Port Lincoln.  These are firsts for the cruiseline.

Pacific Pearl is the latest jewel in P&O’s crown and with 11 decks to discover you’ll find yourself a bit spoilt for choice!  No matter what your preference, there will be something going on from morning till night on these cruises.  From outdoor circuses, to full scale Theatre productions, movies on the giant LED Big Screen and plenty of entertainment at the 270 degree Dome you’ll not know where to go first.  On board food is a delight, a la carte to buffet, delicious burgers to liquorice parfait and lime syrup.  Little monsters are also catered for even up to the teenagers, with their own space in the teen lounge specifically for 11 to 17 year olds.  Of course, after all this indulgence, there is always the pools, spa and the gym for those that are so inclined.

One of the highlights of the Melbourne itineraries will be a five night cruise over to Tasmania on 24th April, stopping at Burnie, Hobart and Port Arthur.  With prices starting at just $649 per person, this is bound to be a popular trip for those wanting something just a little different.  A six night voyage will leave Melbourne bound for Adelaide and this trip will include stops at Port Lincoln and Kangaroo Island.

P&O’s other ships, Pacific Jewel and Pacific Dawn will be in Brisbane and will be offering a total of 34 cruises over from here over the winter season.  Highlights will include a sequence of 7 night Pacific Island cruises with the Jewel taking cruisers to Mare – one of the most recent additions to the Pacific Island tours.  Pacific Jewel is just the ultimate in luxury, with plenty of affordable cabins with balcony and in the gym you can jog or row on machines giving you a stunning outlook over the ocean.  Definitely a workout with a view.

A 10 night itinerary from Brisbane, and an 11 night cruise from Sydney will take in Papua New Guinea, always a favourite with P&O guests.  Departing in September 2014, the price from just $1,199 will make it a favourite since it calls in at the Trobriand Islands, the Doini Islands and the stunning Milne Bay region.

Once again, P&O will be running their themed voyages for Food and Wine, Comedy and Lifestyle enthusiasts departing from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland.  These will be priced from around the $499 per person for these 3 night short cruises.

P&O’s 2014 itineraries look set to take Australia by storm and with such beautiful ships available to you, the time is definitely now to book that cruise.
