Carnival Cruises Increases New Zealand and Queensland Services

Demonstrating their dedication to Queensland and New Zealand, Carnival Cruises have announced exciting new cruise itineraries to the destinations over the summer cruise seasons. Giving cruise fans the chance to explore the unique geography of the two islands of New Zealand, this announcement represents Carnival Cruises first return to the country since 2013.

The company has been inspired by guest feedback to re-open the route to the country’s North Island on two cruise itineraries in the upcoming seasons. The carnival Legend will sail across the Tasman on a New Year cruise departing from Sydney on 30 December 2014 and will call at Bay of Islands, Auckland, Tauranga and Napier during the 10 night cruise.

The Carnival Spirit will then make a similar journey just over a year later, departing Sydney on 12 February 2016 and calling at Napier, Tauranga, Auckland and Bay of Islands on an 11 night cruise.

Carnival Cruise Lines Vice President Australia, Jennifer Vandekreeke, enthused: “Clearly New Zealand is a destination that has captured the hearts of our guests. We’ve been inundated with requests to sail to New Zealand again so we’ve decided to offer two great new summer itineraries for New Year 2015 and February 2016.

“Our guests will get to the heart of New Zealand with shore-side experiences such as hearing about Maori legends while paddling a traditional canoe, exploring Middle Earth with a visit to the Lord of the Rings set and tasting the latest vintages on the Auckland wine trail.”

In addition to the New Zealand trips, Carnival Cruises have also announced plans for an 11 night Christmas Cruise to Queensland’s beautiful Great Barrier Reef – departing on 20 December 2015 from Sydney and calling at Airlie Beach, Yorkey’s Knob, Brisbane and Port Douglas on Christmas Day.

Ms Vandekreeke continued: “Cruising the warm waters of Queensland is the perfect way to spend Christmas week. Families can head inland to explore the amazing rainforest or dive into the crystal clear waters for snorkelling off the Great Barrier Reef and then splashing around at iconic Australian beaches such as Whitehaven.

“Guests will also be able to enjoy all the fun on-board Carnival Legend from the Green Thunder waterslide to great family activities like Hasbro, The Game Show and Seuss at Sea.

“It’s got to be the best value summer holiday on offer, with great food, accommodation and entertainment plus fantastic destinations all included in the fare.”
