Luca Fantin joins Crystal Cruises

Cruisers on Crystal Symphony’s cruise “Koalas & Kiwis” will be travelling through some of the hottest destinations in Australia and New Zealand in January next year. One of the hottest guests on-board will be Tokyo super chef Luca Fantin. He will be joining the cruise as a guest expert on the Wine & Food voyage, along with Chef Damien Pignolet, Master Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim and wine expert Eugenio Jardim.

The eclectic mix of Aussie-Kiwi food will be represented with Fantin’s Japanese roots and his love for contemporary Italian food, alongside Pignolet’s French-Aussie fusions. Crystal Cruises specialist tours include live cooking demonstrations, distinctive menus and the two chefs will be showing some lucky guests how to prepare their specialities. Wine guru Jardim will give advice on putting together wines that will compliment your food and the increased popularity of cocktails will be catered for by mixologist Abou-Ganim.

On the itinerary are visits to the Morpeth and Hunter Valley in Newcastle for olives, traditional cheeses, vodka and gourmet wine and dining.

Cooking lessons don’t come much more ‘local’ than Christchurch’s ‘Catch of the Day’ with the ingredients being supplied by the fishermen on the quayside.

Greytown and Martinborough are locations for a three course lunch, and sampling the wine and olive oil in the vineyards of the area sounds like a pretty good idea.
