Honolulu 2015 Cruise Guide

Think ‘Hawaii’ and you might think glorious beaches, palm trees and a warm welcome. And you’d be absolutely right, but it’s also worth paying a visit to Honolulu, Hawaii’s capital.

Cruise 1st Australia has access to some fantastic deals on cruises visiting Honolulu. But keep reading to find out more about what makes the city great, and what you can expect to see and do on your trip.

About Honolulu

Honolulu is Hawaii’s capital and its most populated city, home to around 391,000 people. In Hawaiian the name means “calm port” – take a quick look around and you’ll see why.

The city marries the laid-back, easy living reputation of Hawaii with a more thriving city life. You’ll see skyscrapers and office buildings amongst the greenery, but don’t let that fool you – there’s still a very relaxed atmosphere here. And the city life makes it a great place to try out some of the local cuisine.

Top tourist spots around Honolulu include Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach, Waimea Bay, the Honolulu Museum of Art, Diamond Head (a giant 300,000 year old crater), Manoa Falls and the Ala Moana shopping center where you can pick up some souvenirs.

Our cruises visiting Honolulu also visit other beautiful spots in Hawaii, such as Lahaina and Maui. And depending on your cruise, you’ll also see other great places further afield such as Tahiti, Fiji, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver.

Cruise lines currently offering cruises to Honolulu include Carnival Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Celebrity Cruises.
