Holland America Line will offer extended, diverse roundtrip San Diego cruises to Mexico, Hawaii and South Pacific in 2013-14.

Both ms Statendam and ms Veendam will sail to Mexico, Hawaii and French Polynesia for the 2013-14 season.

The ships’ newly expended itineraries feature extended port stays, more overnight calls and visits to some of the most wonderful, picturesque locations in the world.

The ships will conveniently depart on roundtrips from San Diego, California. Guests will be able to embark and disembark the ship in the United States while travelling and visiting to a number of exotic destinations that usually require international flights.

About the cruises:

Mexican Riviera in a Week:

ms Veendam will sail six seven-day itineraries along the Mexican Riviera between November and December 2013, and in March 2014.

The roundtrips depart from San Diego and call at the following ports:

  • Mazatlan
  • Cabo San Lucas
  • Puerto Vallarta

The ship will also cruise along the Bahia Magdalena — a bay noted for the seasonal migration of California grey whales.

The departure dates are: Nov. 9th, Dec. 21st and 28th (2013), and March 9th, 16 and 23 (2014).

Mexican Riviera Port Intensive Cruise – 12 Days:

ms Statendam will sail a longer roundtrip itinerary, departing from San Diego on Dec. 4th 2013 on a 12-day voyage. this cruise will call at:

  • Cabo San Lucas
  • Pichilingue (La Paz)
  • Loreto
  • Guaymas
  • Topolobampo
  • Puerto Vallarta

Guests will get given extra time ashore in Puerto Vallarta for an overnight stay.  Holidaymakers can indulge in tasty local cuisine, learn more about the country’s history and check out the nightlife!  This journey also cruises along the picturesque Bahia Magdalena.

Circle Hawaii Voyages – 17 and 18 days:

ms Veendam will sail around the wonderful, exotic Hawaiian islands during four roundtrip cruises that will depart from San Diego.

The itineraries will explore the natural beauty of the ‘Aloha State’, and guests will be able to explore a new port of call that has been added to the season: Kona.

The 17-day itinerary departs Nov. 16, 2013 and Jan. 4, 2014. These voyages will call at:

  • Hilo
  • Honolulu
  • Nawiliwili
  • Lahaina
  • Kona

The 18-day cruises depart Dec. 3, 2013 and Jan. 21, 2014. The extra day on the itinerary accounts for an overnight stay at Honolulu.

Circle Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas from 29 to 35 Days

ms Statendam will set sail in 2013 and 2014 for a number of Circle Hawaii cruises, ranging from 29 and 35 days in length. These longer voyages sail to Hawaii and into French Polynesia in the South Pacific.

  • Embark in San Diego for a 30-day sailing on either Oct. 4th or Dec. 16th 2013
  • Embark in San Francisco, California for a 32-day sailing on Oct. 2nd 2013
  • Embark in Vancouver, British Columbia for a 35 day sailing on Sept. 29th 2013
  • Embark in San Diego for 29-day Valentine’s Cruise on Feb. 14th 2014
  • Embark in San Diego for 33-day cruise on April 15th 2014 (ends in Vancouver)

The ship will call at:

  • Hawaiian Islands (Hawaii, Maui, Oahu)
  • French Polynesia (Bora Bora, Raiatea, Tahiti, Moorea, Rangiroa, Niku Hiva)

Holland America have allotted extra time with overnight calls at Honolulu, Bora Bora and Tahiti.

Speaking about the cruises, Richard Meadows, Holland America Line’s executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs said:

Each sailing features varied port calls including some overnights and enriching onboard activities that give our guests a very exciting and comprehensive Holland America Line vacation experience.”

While at sea:

Each cruise will include several ‘sea days’, where guests can take the opportunity to explore the boats and their facilities. Holidaymakers will also be able to enjoy the exclusive, premium ‘On Location’ programme. Guests sailing to Hawaii, for example, can learn how to hula, make a fresh flower lei or get a ukulele lesson from a local expert! Those cruising to Mexico will be entertained with authentic mariachi bands during a Mexican fiesta on deck!

Guests will be able to enjoy localised and enriching experiences onboard the ships before visiting ports of call. There are a number of themed lectures, demonstrations and performances to enjoy.

Holidaymakers can also enjoy the wonderful onboard facilities, including the spa, salon, Culinary Arts Center, cafe, Digital Workshop and much, much more!
