The ships MS Oosterdam and MS Volendam will be based in Australia and will be taking passengers on different 10-14 day voyages across the region. These cruises will stop at over 50 interesting and exciting ports, making sure that holidaymakers see everything that Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific islands have to offer! These fantastic cruise itineraries are certain to be very popular for those wanting to explore the region in style. Both ships will depart from Auckland and Sydney in the first instance.

“Over the past few years the popularity of the Australia region has grown tremendously because of its beauty, diversity and friendly citizens, with many travellers making it their top ‘must-do’ trip of a lifetime,”

— Holland America Line executive vice president of sales and marketing, Richard Meadows

The standout features of the summer season include a 34 day circumnavigation of Australia which will be undertaken by MS Volendam. The ship will depart from Sydney on 20 October and will stop at 20 ports on its lengthy voyage. In addition, the ship will cruise through the spectacular Ribbon Reef, a popular attraction for tourists, who come to see the beautiful ‘rainforest of the sea’. The ship will also cruise through the Far North Regions and dock at the Lizard Island National Park in Queensland.
Holland America Line will also be putting on three 14 day New Zealand Discovery sailings, which will depart in December 2013, and in January and March 2014. The MS Oosterdam will be taking holidaymakers on these fantastic 2 week cruises!

“Our array of itineraries includes popular ports, stunning island visits, extended stays, overnight calls and enticing pre- and post cruise options to make the trip ‘Down Under’ a memorable experience”

 — Richard Meadows

Finally, those holidaymakers who are looking for a larger and all-encompassing cruise experience, Holland America Line will be offering 28-58 day voyages, known as the Collector Voyages. These longer holidays variously include back-to-back itineraries or amazing once in a lifetime transatlantic crossings. These trips will depart in September from Vancouver or Los Angeles.
