Royal Caribbean International has put together an agreement with MGM Resorts International to offer the members of their respective loyalty programs the chance to gain more rewards.

Starting from January 2013 their members will be sharing the fantastic benefits from each program.  The Crown and Anchor members have the option of pre-sale A-list concert tickets, priority reservations, upgrades and check-ins.

Membership to the Crown and Anchor Society is activated when you take your very first eligible RCI cruise and offers you Gold membership straight away.  Benefits such as on-board booking bonuses and invitations to the Welcome Back party are just some of it’s member advantages.  These increase as you work your way up the levels by taking more cruises right up to membership of the Pinnacle club which offers complimentary upgrades, free cruises, exclusive invitations to eat with ships officers and membership of the exclusive on board club areas.

MGM resorts’ membership program also has different tiers of benefits and as their members move up the tiers, their cruise benefits will increase.

Lisa Bauer, RCIs’ Executive Vice President for Global Sales and Marketing says “Whether on land or at sea, Crown and Anchor Society and M-life members will enjoy unprecedented recognition for their dedication to our brands.  We are delighted to be an M-life preferred partner and welcome M-life members aboard to experience our world renowned Gold Anchor Service, innovative cruise ships, unexpected on board amenities, and unforgettable itineraries to exciting destinations.”

M-life offers credits when you take spend money in any of MGMs’ hotels and spas or eat at their restaurants.  These credits are then converted into a ‘tier’ membership which in turn offers you benefits.

The Sapphire is the base tier for those up to 24,999 credits which offers discounted rooms, shows and pre-sale tickets for concerts, fights and other events.  You’ll also receive other exclusive offers personalised to you.

Moving up to the Pearl tier for those with over 25,000 credits, you get an additional 10% of credits for your spend, upgraded seating at shows and passes for the buffet at Las Vegas resorts.

Gold tier comes in at 75,000 credits and offers a 20% bonus on credits, priority check-in and to give you more time to enjoy their resorts, early check in or late check out.  If you are lucky enough to stay on a day when upgraded rooms are available you’ll also be offered these.

Platinum for customers earning 200,000 credits offers a 30% tier credit multiplier, priority taxi and valet service and 15% discount at certain retail shops.

The final tier ‘Noir’ can only be obtained by invitation.  MGM states “As part of our ultra elite, NOIR members get the best of everything”.  This includes 40% multiplier on credits, limos to and from the airport and guaranteed rooms, best seats in the shows and you’ll be assured of a seat in their restaurants.
