Facilities on Crystal Symphony

Whether you feel like being pampered, getting active or grabbing a bite to eat, you’ll find all that and more on board Crystal Symphony.

For fitness fanatics, the state-of-the-art Fitness Centre offers a number of facilities including yoga and Pilates classes. Why not give it a try? Then there’s the Crystal Spa, where you can enjoy a number of health and beauty treatments in tranquil surroundings. You might find the pool inviting, too… or maybe you’d prefer the sun loungers!

There’s even Wimbledon Court, an on-board tennis court where you can test your serve in exciting singles or doubles matches. No previous experience necessary!

Computer University@Sea is a computer centre where you can design photo slide shows and compose emails to send to people back home. If you’re not computer literate, don’t worry – there will be plenty of opportunity to learn.

And when it comes to dining, there are options to cater for all tastes – like Silk Road, a fine Japanese-style restaurant; Trident Bar & Grill, for a more casual setting; Lido Café, with a buffet-style service that lets you choose how you want your meal.

History of Crystal Symphony

Crystal Symphony is a relatively young cruise ship, having been built in 1995 by Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Turku, Finland at a cost of around US$250 million.

She has undergone a number of refits since then: a US$23 million renovation in 2006 – the largest ever refit for the cruise line. Then in 2009 she underwent another US$25 million refit, followed by a two-week renovation in June 2012, which required 1,100 workers to complete. Rest assured, this ship has been looked after!

As well as her current trips around Australia and the Americas, she has previously cruised the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, the Mediterranean, the British Isles, the Baltic and the Arctic Sea.
