About Xiamen

Xiamen is located on the eastern coast of China, near Taiwan, and as such is an ideal stopping destination for cruises around Asia. It is home to around 5 million people in total, and is one of China’s most affluent regions – in fact it was voted one of the world’s most livable cities in 2002.

The city is renowned for having a number of historical buildings, tidy streets and a beautiful waterfront district where you will no doubt want to spend much of your time here.

Other popular sights include the Nanputuo Buddhist Temple; Huli Shan Fortress, which dates back to 1894; the Kaihe Lu Fish Market, where you’ll find an array of weird and wonderful sea creatures for sale; and Xiamen University, one of the country’s most famous higher education facilities.

A Xiamen cruise provides the opportunity to visit many other fascinating destinations in the region, including Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Phu My and Singapore. Cruise lines offering Xiamen trips include Royal Caribbean Cruises.
