Celebrity Cruises will be expanding the number of its ships visiting Australia during the 2014-15 cruise season.

Two of Celebrity’s ships will join those already stationed in Australia; Celebrity Century and Celebrity Solstice, according to the Managing Director of Royal Caribbean, Gavin Smith. This will mark the latter’s return for a third cruise season in the area.

The planned expansion of 2014-15 comes after a very successful season for Celebrity Solstice. Indeed, the ship has already been transporting very satisfied holidaymakers around the most beautiful parts of the region. In the last season, Solstice carried 35,000 passengers, of which nearly 60% were people from overseas.

About Celebrity Century:

Century is a smaller ship than Solstice. It carries approximately 1800 passengers, compared with the 2850 that Solstice can hold. Century was built in 1995, and certainly can be described as more of a classic vessel. However, that doesn’t mean that it falls short of Celebrity Cruises’ exacting standards. The ship houses a wide range of fantastic onboard facilities to match other ships in the fleet. For instance, 50% of its cabins are balcony cabins, and the ship holds a range of luxury accommodations, including Penthouse Suites and Sky Suites. In terms of places to relax, Century has tonnes on offer. This includes an amazing foot spa area measuring 9000 square foot. In this space, passengers can order a relaxing massage and high qualities facials. And for something a bit more upbeat, passengers can hit the casino to see if any luck comes their way, or visit the some of the ship’s world-class restaurants to sample cuisine prepared by highly trained chefs. Finally, if holidaymakers really want to let their hair down, the very popular Ice Bar is certainly worth a visit!

Century will sail on 11 voyages around Australia, and will then travel to Singapore in January 2015. There are a range of new destinations for the Australia tours, including Port Lincoln, Burnie and Cairns.

About Celebrity Solstice:

Celebrity Solstice is one of the finest ships in the Celebrity Cruises’ fleet. It too has a wide range of accommodation options to suit every budget, and the majority of its rooms have a private balcony space, so passengers will get amazing sea views as they sail. The ship has some truly amazing features, including a half-acre of lawn on the top of the ship, where holidaymakers can relax and take in the sun. There are numerous restaurants and dining options onboard the ship, such as the Tuscan Grille, the Italian steakhouse with a twist, and Silk Harvest, where passengers can feast on delicious cuisine from across East Asia. And in terms of things to keep you busy in between shore excursions, Celebrity Solstice isn’t short of activities. Why not take in a musical performance or listen to a fascinating lecture by an expert, or simply just hit the spa and relax.
