Carnival Spirit – a guide

0

Who says a cruise always has to be relaxing? Carnival Spirit combines stunning sights with a fun-packed atmosphere, suitable for both adults and families.

But that’s not to say there’s no time for relaxation. You’ll have plenty of time to take in the ocean views, relax on a sun lounger or let off steam in the on-board spa – to name just a few of the activities on board.

The ship was built by Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Helsinki, Finland, and enjoyed her maiden voyage through the Panama Canal in April 2001. Prior to her arrival in Australia in October 2012, she underwent US$7 million worth of renovations including the addition of a new waterslide, a serenity deck, an outdoor barbecue and more.

We currently offer a range of trips around the Australian east coast on board Carnival Spirit. Check out some of our current deals here.

Things to do on board Carnival Spirit

Perhaps the question should be: what isn’t there to do? Carnival Spirit is all about fun, with a huge variety of activities to keep kids and grown-ups who should know better entertained.

For people who enjoy soaking up the rays and getting wet, the ship boasts the largest waterpark at sea in Australia, complete with outdoor pool and ‘Green Thunder’ twister water-slide. And when you feel like you need a rest, the day spa, whirlpool or steam room should see you right.

Fitness fanatics will enjoy the jogging track around the entire circumference of the ship – almost half a kilometre long – or indeed the on-board basketball court and two-deck fitness centre.

And those of you who like to dance the night away should enjoy the 16 bars and lounges on board. There’s also a casino, video arcade and cabaret theatre.

So whether you want to liven things up or kick back and relax, you can truly get away from it all on board Carnival Spirit.

Food and drink

There’s plenty of choice when it comes to dining on board, with a number of restaurants to choose from. There’s an outdoor barbecue, pizzeria, salad bar, ice cream bar and more.
