Carnival Cruises to deploy a second ship in Australian waters. Carnival Legend will join Spirit for 2014-15 sailings.

Carnival Legend will be sent to operate in Sydney from September next year, the company cite overwhelming demand as their reason for sending the ship to the region.

Legend will arrive in Sydney on 24th September 2014, where she’ll undertake a range of 8-12 night cruises to New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Fiji on a seasonal basis. For those wanting to experience one of these fab cruise trips, booking opens next month.

Speaking of the addition to Australian waters, Carnival Cruise Lines Australia and New Zealand director Jennifer Vandekreeke expressed her excitement about the company’s upcoming plans:

“The tens of thousands of Aussies who have already travelled on Carnival Spirit tell us they love the quality of our dining, entertainment, activities on offer for families and couples, comfort of our staterooms, and of course the exceptional service provided by our crew – and we can now offer this to even more guests with the arrival of Carnival Legend”.

Dry-dock refurbishment

Prior to her arrival in Sydney, Legend will be fully refurbished during a dry-dock stop.

“Carnival Legend will go into dry dock in 2014 where she will receive a range of upgrades to ensure she’s perfectly suited for the tastes of the Aussie market. We will be using our valuable learnings from the first year of Carnival Spirit’s deployment to decide on the best features and enhancements for Australians.”

— Jennifer Vandekreeke, Carnival Cruise Lines Australia and New Zealand director

Carnival have committed Legend to at least two seasons sailing from Sydney; she will return to the city in 2015 after the Northern summer.

More details about Legend’s upcoming Sydney itineraries will be announced towards the end of this month.
