As it is the season of goodwill and a time when giving generously to charity most matters, it is excellent news that Carnival Cruise Lines and Carnival Corporation & plc  have donated $54,000 to 12 non-profit organisations based in South Florida.

This generous donation was given via the Carnival Foundation and the money will be used to buy gifts for vulnerable children throughout the Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

This donation is sure to put smiles on the underprivileged children’s faces and Carnival has also made a donation of toys to the Angel Tree Program run by the Salvation Army and also to the Toys for Tots Program. It’s fantastic news that these donations will deliver gifts directly to over 4,000 children during the holiday season. The gift and monetary donations will go to numerous charity organisations, including the foster care agency 4Kids of South Florida; Amigos for Kids, which is focused on preventing child abuse, and Chapman Partnership which provides assistance to the homeless. The CHARLEE Homes for Children will also be a beneficiary of the donations, which provides services for abandoned and neglected children. Kristi House, Miami Children’s Hospital, Overtown Youth Center and Voices For Children Foundation are some of the other noted charities. In addition, charities which provide services to families in periods of crisis, such as Children’s Harbor; Children’s Home Society of Florida; Jack and Jill Children’s Center and Kids in Distress, will also receive these donations.

About The Carnival Foundation:

The Carnival Foundation has responsibility for Carnival Cruise Lines’ philanthropic donations and projects. Carnival tries to give worldwide, but a large focus of its efforts is within South Florida itself. This is where the cruise line is headquartered. The Carnival Foundation also coordinates the Friends Uniting Neighbors (F.U.N.) Team, which is an employee-driven service. The Carnival Foundation gives regular donations to non-profit charities and also provides assistance in times of severe crisis. For example, it works with international relief agencies in the aftermath of hurricanes in the US and throughout the Caribbean. In addition, employees try and do their bit to help the local community, by organising beach clean ups and volunteering at some of the locally based charities. During the past 30 years Carnival has given over $30 million in donations and charitable giving and this ethos looks set to continue.
