Solo traveller cruise guide

Thinking of going on a cruise, but don’t have anyone to go with? You’re not alone.

In fact, more people than you might think travel alone. A solo cruise can be a great opportunity to meet new people and see those sights you’ve always wanted to see (without having to keep everyone else entertained!).

Many of our cruise deals are suitable for solo travellers. Modestly-sized interior staterooms offer great value for money, and some cruise operators actually provide opportunities for single travellers to meet other people.

Which cruise lines are best for single travellers?

P&O Azura is a good choice for single travellers, with 18 single rooms available (or you could book a bigger room if you like your space). The advantage of the single rooms is that they’re priced for one person, so there are savings to be made.

Meanwhile, Norwegian Epic – a new ship for Norwegian Cruise Line – provides some 128 single traveller staterooms, which means there are plenty of people in the same position as you.

Holland America Line also provides a lot of rooms for the lone traveller. In fact, their Single Partner’s Program is similar to a roommate-matching service, matching you with a traveller of the same gender to spend time with.

Crystal Cruises are also ideal for single travellers, hosting singles parties and more. They typically charge only 25-50% of the double occupancy rate on their staterooms.

In short – don’t feel like being single should stop you enjoying a cruise! A cruise is a great opportunity to see a number of fantastic tourist spots all in the same trip, and travelling alone can be ideal for photographers, writers or just people who enjoy their own company.
