And thanks to a brand new partnership with global hairstyling brand Jean Louis David, passengers can now pamper their locks with high-end salon services, set to launch at the end of 2016. The new partnership is part of the company’s effort to introduce a host of upscale brand names to its on-board repertoire, and build on its exclusive range of beauty and wellness services.
“This latest announcement reflects our long term commitment and strategy to bring our guests an ever broader set of unique and often exclusive experiences across our fleet through true, end-to-end partnerships with world-class experts in their field,” says Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises.
The ‘JLD’ touch
Expect perfect trims and flawless cuts, as all stylists are trained by Jean Louis David specialists. Before stepping out in style, passengers will be offered the chance to continue the pampering experience with a collection of branded products, available to purchase in the salon. From colour therapy and intensive oil treatments to salon inspired shampoos and mousses, the goal is to help passengers style their way to beautifully groomed tresses.
“Having an internationally recognized, best-in-class brand on-board means that our guests can trust that they will receive the highest standards of service from exclusively-trained stylists who will deliver outstanding care as well as feature the latest trends in hairstyling. This further adds to an offering that already includes, amongst others, the luxurious MSC Aurea Spa where guests are pampered from head to toe,” adds Onorato.
Superlative salon standards, at-sea
Great news for cruisers who’d prefer to spend cash on cocktails, shore excursions and fine dining experiences. According to the brand, prices will closely align with the figures advertised in more than 1,000 Jean Louis David salons found on dry land.

As well as being rolled out on its existing fleet members, Jean Louis David will also make an appearance on-board the line’s brand new ships, including the highly anticipated MSC Meraviglia. Scheduled to launch in June 2017, the ultra-modern vessel will sail the Mediterranean, calling at sun kissed ports like Italy, Spain, France and more.
