Which Lines Offer the Best Room Service at Sea?

0

On land or at sea, there’s nothing like ordering room service straight to your own private suite. Perfect for those with a penchant for the odd nightcap, room service offers flexibility and convenience, as well as a touch of luxury and extravagance. If lounging on your own private balcony and being waited on hand and foot sounds like your idea of the perfect cruise break, here’s a shortlist of the cruise lines which offer the best room service at sea.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Choose to travel with Norwegian Cruise Line, and we’d recommend bumping yourself up to the The Haven class of cabin to enjoy the perks of a 24-hour private butler service at sea. Available aboard a number of NCL ships, including Breakaway, Epic, Gem, Getaway, Jewel and Pearl, the 24-hour butler service team will attend to your every whim — from ordering lunch direct to your terrace to plumping your pillows before a good night’s sleep. Sure a Haven class suite will cost you, but it comes with other perks too, including access to The Haven Courtyard, sun deck and private fitness room.

MSC Cruises

Thanks to the intimate proportions of their vessels, MSC are able to offer an attentive concierge and butler service for each of their few hundred passengers. For the best possible treatment, opt to become a member of MSC’s exclusive Yacht Club, which grants you access to a number of on board venues not enjoyed by the average MSC passenger. As well as this, MSC Yacht Club members will also enjoy priority room service, meaning you won’t be waiting long for your next Kir Royale to arrive.

Celebrity Cruises

World renowned for their contemporary approach to luxury cruise travel, Celebrity Cruises have nailed their on board concierge programme, providing a service that’s attentive without being overbearing or stuffy. For Celebrity passengers, this means you’ll enjoy all the perks of flexible room service without being constantly hounded for additional services and tips. Upon arrival in your Celebrity cabin, you’ll find a bottle of sparkling wine and room service menu waiting for you — how long will you hold out before placing your first order?

Cunard Line

The undisputed kings of luxury ocean travel; Cunard Line have been providing exceptional service for well over a century. Naturally this has given them unmatched expertise in offering quality cabin service to their guests, with a dedicated team on hand to wait on guests’ every whim. Cunard are so on it when it comes to room service, they’ve extended the facility to other areas of the ship, so you can order a light bite or bottle of wine whether you’re in bed or at the spa.

Royal Caribbean International

While Royal Caribbean aren’t known for their luxury, they do offer an excellent and fully flexible room service programme. From early morning to the wee small hours, Royal Caribbean guests can order just about anything to their cabin, and this isn’t restricted based on your cabin class. Food, drink or a DVD — you name it, RC will deliver it direct to your door. Be careful though, as you could soon run up a hefty bill; few items on Royal Caribbean’s room service menu are included in the price of your holiday, and you’ll also be handed a service charge.
