Foodies delight! According to in-house Silver Muse Culinary Director, Rudi Scholdis, the newest addition to the Silversea fleet sets new standards for at-sea fare. Despite its small ship capacity of 596-passengers, the vessel will feature 26 unique food concepts, eight different dining venues, 5,000 recipes and 360 menus! The goal is to whisk passengers away on a kaleidoscopic journey of taste, serving up everything from casual bites to refined fine dining.
Rethinking at-sea dining
Described by the line as an “exciting evolution of Silver Spirit,” the Silver Muse redefines ultra-luxurious leisure cruising. One of the most transformative new concepts is the rejection of the classic main dining room layout. Instead, the Silver Muse will feature three key restaurants, with two of the venues defined by central bars to create a high-energy social atmosphere.
“Just like a restaurant in New York or London, guests can come and have a drink at the bar while waiting for their dinner party. They can also eat at the bar if they wish. Dinners don’t have to take two hours; we are giving the people the option for a quick meal if that is what they want,” explains Scholdis.
A whirlwind of global flavours
For passengers in search of fine French cuisine, MaDame by Relais & Chateaux is white glove service, at its finest. Alantide will make an appearance as the line’s signature seafood grill, Kabuki will create theatrically inspired Japanese delights while Indochine will blend a tantalising fusion of Asian cuisines.
On Deck 7, the all new Silver Note draws ‘out the box’ inspiration from a host of cuisines, with Scholdis describing the experience as “Peru Meets Japan” or “Mexico Meets North America.” With bold flavours, wild creativity and live music on-tap, it’s guaranteed to emerge as a favourite with Silver Muse passengers.
Celebrating the line’s Italian heritage is La Terrazza, complemented by Deck 11’s Regina Margherita, a laid back Neapolitan-style pizzeria. Hot Rock will continue to operate on the pool deck, treating guests to the concept of lava stone cooking. Of course, it’s not all healthy… Passengers with a sweet tooth will love the brand-new ice cream parlour, with a rainbow of flavours on offer every day.
Catering to changing needs
In recognition of increased demand for special diets, nutrition needs and allergies, Silversea has also hired in-house culinary nutritionist, Danila Roglieri. Together, the ‘dream team’ bring Silversea tables to life, and ensure the line stays at the top of its culinary game!
“She works very closely with me and makes sure that whatever I create, whatever I cook, is balanced and that we know which allergens may be in the food, and if it is suitable for various diets. And we pride ourselves on never saying no. That has been my motto for the 15 years I have been with the line. I have never said no to anybody and I do not expect anyone aboard to say no to anybody else,” says Scholdis.
