Princess Cruises’ Annual Entertainer of the Year Competition

The Princess Cruises second annual Entertainer of the Year competition will be held on board the Crown Princess on February 9th to 16th 2013. The Valentine Cruise to the Western Caribbean will give cruisers the chance show their appreciation for the four finalists.
Last year’s pioneering competition in April named Carlos Oscar as the best entertainer from all of those performing on the Princess Cruises fleet. Carlos is a comedian whose non-swearing storytelling style found favour with the family orientated cruisers.

Jan Swartz, Executive Vice President of Princess Cruises said “Passengers loved our first Entertainer of the Year competition, especially the opportunity to see all the finalists on one cruise”.

In fact, some of the competitors had brought along their own fan base and voting was swift with many of the guests campaigning on their behalf.

The Princess Cruises’ entertainment team are responsible for selecting the final top four competitors from the 2,000 or so entertainers that work on the ships throughout the year. To give everyone a fair chance, video clips will be posted on the company facebook page so that cruisers can make their initial decisions on their favourites.

Whilst on the cruise, passengers will be entertained by live performances from each of the finalists and then their votes will be cast. These will then be tallied together and on the final night of the cruise, a special party will be held to announce the title of “2012 Princess Cruises Entertainer of the Year” and the winner will take away the $5,000 cash prize.

There is plenty of other entertainment on offer as well. The more romantic of guests on the Valentine Cruise will be able to dance with their partners under the star coated sky, take to the ballroom floor or giggle in the back row of the theatre whilst enjoying an award winning movie. The ‘Movies Under the Stars’ are shown up on the top deck, and the extra touches include free popcorn, warm cookies and milk and even blankets on the chaise lounges for those cooler evenings.

Every Princess Cruise features a Signature Show that offers guests the chance to be entertained by outstanding music and choreography in their massive production shows.

All this and much more combine to offer cruisers the chance of a relaxing, worry free holiday.
