P&O’s Latest Ship Debuts Exclusive At-Sea Feature…

P&O has never been a line to shy away from innovation. And now, official sources have confirmed that when its newest fleet member launches in 2017, passengers will be treated to an exclusive at-sea activity that no other ship can claim…

A lawn bowls green!

Scheduled to set sail in June, the Pacific Explorer will unveil a host of exciting new features, designed especially for the Australian cruise market. Apparently, barefoot bowling is something that Aussies are conclusively into!

A new-look Princess…

While the ship itself isn’t a new-build (it’s actually a revamped version of the Dawn Princess), it will debut a handful of at-sea firsts. As well as a purpose built lawn bowls green, other pioneering features include a mega-waterpark headlined by a duo of heart racing waterslides, as well as “larger than life” aquatic toys. With LED lights and sound effects to boot, the park is set to make a serious splash.

The ultra-chic Black Circus supper club is another anticipated addition, serving up cocktails, canapes and cabaret-style entertainment. Thrill seekers will be able to fly through the air on a zip line, while those in search of edible adventures will love the chance to hit up the all-new poolside Lobster and Burger Bar.

Fun at heart

P&O Cruises President, Sture Myrmell asserts that the team had “a lot of fun” designing the all Australian Pacific Explorer, promising that it “offers something for everyone.”

“We’ve taken the winning features of our existing ships, then added a whole new layer of excitement with some big wow moments like the waterslides as well as new concepts like the bowling green and a stunning hidden bar, which we think will put a smile on our guests’ faces,” Mr Myrmell said.

Rumours surrounding the 2,000-passenger ship were confirmed at a VIP pre-launch event held at Sydney’s Luna Park. With ‘avant garde’ décor, modern art, luxurious furnishings and a focus on fine dining and entertainment, there’s no doubt that the ship will undergo a refurbishment that transforms it beyond recognition.
