About P&O Cruises

Established in Southampton, England, P&O Cruises started life in 1837 as a constituent of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company. P&O is the oldest cruise line in the world, operating the world’s first cruise ships in the early 19th century.

The first P&O passenger journey to Australia came in 1932, and these journeys eventually developed into the cruise trips the company offers today.

It’s now the leading provider of cruise trips around Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

P&O Australia cruise ships

P&O Cruises Australia currently operates three ships.

Pacific Dawn
Designed by renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, Pacific Dawn benefited from a refurbishment in May 2010 and features modern decor and a wide range of amenities, including a giant outdoor LED screen and ‘The Dome’ entertainment centre.

Pacific Jewel
Pacific Jewel offers an interesting first for a cruise ship: the first high-wire circus and trapeze arena at sea! But that’s just one of the many fantastic amenities you’ll find on board. If you feel like relaxing, the spa and fitness centre should take care of that.

Pacific Pearl
Pacific Pearl is the most recent addition to P&O Australia’s current fleet. As with the other ships, there’s a huge range of entertainment, luxurious accommodation and mouth-watering dining to be enjoyed.
