0

In June 2017, the newly-refurbished Dawn Princess, now renamed Pacific Explorer and owned by P&O Cruises, will set sail on her maiden voyage from Sydney, Australia. Bought from sister company Princess Cruises, P&O’s new ship has been designed to reflect the very best of contemporary Australian culture. It features stylish décor, exciting new features, and stunning international cuisine. With the capacity for 2,000 guests spread over 11 decks, the Pacific Explorer will be a shining example of the luxury and adventure of modern cruising.

Contemporary Style

Pacific Explorer features stylish décor designed to reflect the chic elegance of modern Australia. The sophisticated, contemporary look that has become the trademark of P&O cruise ships can be seen throughout each deck, from the minimalist, blue striped pool deck to the sultry elegance of its new cabaret supper club. Sleek monochrome, accented with red, forms the perfect backdrop for lounging on the sun deck with a cocktail.

A range of restaurants and bars can be found throughout the ship, each with its own signature style. From the sultry green and black velour of the Dragon Lady Chinese restaurant to the plush luxury of the supper-club style Black Circus, there is a venue to suit your every mood. Clean, contemporary design can be seen throughout the ship, from the airy public spaces to the luxurious cabins.

Burst of Adventure

P&O have had great fun designing a range of innovative adventure activities for guests to enjoy on Pacific Explorer, including the cruise line’s first water park. With waterslides that light up as you travel through their twists and turns and oversized water toys; there’s fun for all the family in and out of the pool. The Edge Adventure Park is an ideal addition for all the adrenaline junkies, with a flying fox giving you a change to finally live your superman dreams. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, the barefoot bowling green is a brand new concept that lets you challenge your loved ones to a friendly game whilst you soak up some sun. With all this and more, you’ll never have to worry about being bored aboard the Pacific Explorer.

Gourmet Gastronomy

Like all P&O’s ships, the Pacific Explorer has an array of different dining experiences designed to delight passengers throughout their trip. Each restaurant has its own unique character, offering both formal and relaxed dining, and a range of food from around the world. The ever popular Waterfront restaurant will feature on Pacific Explorer, along with other restaurants which debuted to great acclaim on other Pacific ships.

Angelo’s, a contemporary Italian restaurant, serving stone-baked pizzas and heavenly sharing platters laden with all your favourite flavours of Italy, will be on board. The restaurant has been designed to have a contemporary feel, with a long, tiled bar area and crisp neutral tones. Pots of growing herbs adorn every table, filling the air with the fresh scents of Italy. Perfect for sharing a laugh with friends over a glass of red wine and delicious pizza, fresh from the oven.

Exotic dining venue Dragon Lady also features on Pacific Explorer, offering deliciously fragrant South-east Asian cuisine. The restaurant is decorated in deep greens and black, with stunning latticework screens and golden dragons giving it an atmospheric ambience. Perfect for intimate dining, the restaurant’s cosy feel lends itself to an indulgent evening with that special someone.

A collaboration with celebrity chef Luke Mangan means the ship will also have a wonderful Salt Grill restaurant. Enjoying a prime location overlooking the main pool area, the restaurant will serve beautiful food designed by Mangan himself. Offering an unforgettable dining experience, it is likely to be as popular on the Pacific Explorer as it is on other ships, so be sure to book a table.

Fresh Entertainment

Pacific Explorer will delight its passengers with a variety of new entertainment, from all-singing, all-dancing shows to indulgent games nights. The new Black Circus venue will allow cruise goers to enjoy thrilling, cabaret-style entertainment in this plush supper club, whilst enjoying innovative cocktails and a delicious menu of sophisticated treats. The line-up of newly designed shows, thrilling dance acts and seductive cabaret is not to be missed.
