Norwegian Cruise Line is set to open two more Margaritaville at Sea restaurants aboard its ships Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Breakaway. The popular casual dining restaurant chain aims to bring to life nostalgic island moments with signature menu items like the Cheeseburger in Paradise and Who’s to Blame Margarita.

Margaritaville at Sea will open September 18th aboard Norwegian Getaway in the former Flamingo Grill, and on October 9th aboard Norwegian Breakaway in the former Uptown Grill.

Enjoy the island lifestyle

“Norwegian Cruise Line has been bringing guests to paradise for nearly 50 years,” said Andy Stuart, president and chief operating officer for Norwegian Cruise Line. “With the expansion of our partnership with Margaritaville to our Breakaway Class ships, our guests will now be able to enjoy the island lifestyle before the ship has even left port.”

Landshark Bars will also be added to Norwegian’s private islands, Harvest Caye in Belize and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. Margaritaville’s first-ever at-sea restaurant has been open on board the line’s newest ship, Norwegian Escape, since its launch in 2015.

Sun, fun and cocktails

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Norwegian Cruise Line, allowing even more guests to escape to the Margaritaville state of mind,” said John Cohlan, chief executive officer of Margaritaville. “Norwegian shares our philosophy that combines fun with exceptional service and we look forward to continuing to take this partnership to new sea levels.”

The partnership came about as part of The Norwegian Edge, a $400 million investment program dedicated to improving and delivering exceptional onboard experiences. To ensure that all of their ships look even better than they did when they first left the shipyard, extensive revitalisations and refurbishments are being carried out on the line’s entire fleet.

Extensive refurbishment plans

Since October 2015, five of the line’s ships have been refurbished, including Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Sun, Pride of America, Norwegian Gem and Norwegian Epic. Four more ships are due for enhancements by Spring 2017.
