As Holland America Line’s pacific flagship and the sister ship to MS Rotterdam, MS Amsterdam offers a truly memorable cruising experience. This year she will be visiting a number of fantastic tourist destinations across Asia and the Americas.

Cruise 1st Australia has a number of great deals to offer this year. Check out our full range of MS Amsterdam cruise deals here.

About MS Amsterdam

MS Amsterdam is actually the third ship in Holland America Line’s 140-year history to bear the name of the Netherlands’ capital. She was built in 2000 at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. This mid-sized ship houses approximately 1,380 passengers, which means you’ll never feel crowded on the ship’s 12 decks.

Diners have plenty of choice: from the high-class La Fontaine Dining Room to the more laid-back Lido Restaurant. There’s also a great cafe where guests can read a book, newspaper or the internet with a relaxing cup of coffee.

At the Culinary Arts Centre, you’ll be able to watch cooking demonstrations by expert chefs, and you might just pick up a few tips along the way!

And when it comes to entertainment, there’s the Queens Show Lounge, where you’ll be treated to shows by singers, dancers and comedians; and the Crow’s Nest, which is a fantastic 270-degree viewing post by day and a club by night.

If you’re a family and want some peace and quiet, there are also clubs for the kids to hang out in while you relax and unwind.

Staterooms on MS Amsterdam

Although MS Amsterdam is very much a luxury ship, you don’t necessarily need a huge budget to enjoy your time on board. Even the interior rooms are tastefully decorated and include a range of great amenities, including deluxe bathrobes, premium massage showerheads, complimentary fresh fruit (on request), a flat-panel TV and DVD player and much more.

The Ocean View rooms offer all of the above, plus stunning views over the ocean as you make your way to your next destination.

Vista Suites offer a taste of real luxury, with much more room, a private verandah, mini-bar, whirlpool bath and more.

And if you’re looking for the best possible experience on board, the Neptune Suites and Pinnacle Suites should take care of that – with beautifully-decorated rooms offering floor-to-ceiling windows out onto the ocean, priority services and many more great benefits.
