According to the latest statistics from Nielsen, 66% of global consumers say they’re willing to pay more for sustainable brands. Buyer behaviour is clearly changing, and there’s a distinct eco-friendly movement underway. Holland America Line is at the forefront of the trend, named by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies” for the fifth year in a row. It’s an incredible achievement for the line, and makes it a wonderful choice for anyone in search of luxury holidays, with an eco-friendly edge.

Cruising with a conscience

As a leading business ethics think tank, the Ethisphere Institute has a bona fide voice when it comes to spotlighting the crème de la crème of principled business. And in 2016, Holland America Line has caught its eye, yet again.

According to the judges, the company was recognised for its impressive efforts to both implement and promote admirable ethical business standards and practices, both within its company and in the cruise industry as a whole. It’s these efforts that scored it recognition within the Lodging, Leisure and Recreation category.

Orlando Ashford, President of Holland America Line sees the achievement as an ongoing goal. “Every year is another opportunity for Holland America Line to further our ethical practices,” he said, “and to be recognized for five consecutive years by Ethisphere Institute shows that we’re exceeding our own high ethical standards. It is an honour to be named among the highest calibre of like-minded companies, and we’ll continue to set goals that challenge us to keep raising the bar.”
