Explore some of the most amazing places on earth, onboard Holland America Line:

If you fancy an exciting cruise packed full of historical adventures, an extreme range of climates and sensational scenery, then Holland America Line’s newest itineraries are for you.

During the latter half of 2012 and beginning of 2013 HAL’s three ships, Ms Veendam, Ms Massdam and Ms Prinsendam, will be heading to South America on a series of exciting cruise expeditions and touring around this amazing continent.

The new itineraries:

HAL are running SO many itineraries during the upcoming season: they range from 13 to 68 days.  There are plenty of fantastic new experiences for holidayers to enjoy.

Just some of the highlight include:

  • A 23-day Amazon Explorer cruise will set sail in November 2012
  • A 49-day extended, port-intensive Amazon and Carnival Voyage in early 2012
  • And also a spectacular 68-day Grand South America and Antarctica Voyage in January 2013

In addition, from November 2012 to March 2013, Veendam will sail six 13-day itineraries and one 17-day itinerary calling at a range of ports between Santiago and Brazil.   This looks amazing:  you can explore the scenic fjords of Chile, tour exotic places like Ushuaia (famed for being the southernmost town in the world), as well as discover Cape Horn and Magellan Strait – the gateway to Antarctica.

Cruise fares begin from $1549 per person, double occupancy, for the 13-day sailings, and from $1,799 for the 17-day voyages.

Christmas cruise:

Fancy getting away from it all this Christmas?  Celebrate onboard Veendam, which is sailing a 21-day Antarctica Explorer Holiday cruise, departing from Rio de Janeiro on Dec 20th 2012.  This ship sails to Valparaiso, Santiago.

You can celebrate this festive time of year by enjoying some of the world’s most vibrant and exciting places!

Explore the Amazon and experience Carnival:

Definitely worth booking:  Maadam will sail one unique cruise, which spends 49 days cruising the Amazon. The voyage stops at 25 ports in total, throughout Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. Visit Barbados, Brazil, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, French Guiana and Trinidad and Tobago, crossing the equator twice during the voyage.

The main highlight of the tour is “Carnival”, also known as “the world’s largest party”, in February. The festive season occurs before lent and it typically involves parades, circuses, masks and a large public street party! Join in the festivities and party, or photographers might choose to take advantage of the vibrant colours and unusual dress and charge up their camera batteries in preparation to get snapping!

The cruise can be extended too, with calls at seven ports  —  Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Buenos Aires, Callao (Lima), Fuerte Amador (Panama City), Manaus and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  This will allow extra time ashore to enjoy both historical and local, cultural attractions.  Guests with less time to spend exploring and touring can embark upon a shorter segment of Maasdam’s Amazon and Carnival Explorer Voyage cruise.

Cruise fares begin from $7,999 per person, double occupancy, for the full 49-day Amazon and Carnival Explorer Voyage; From $2,999 per person for the 23-day Amazon and Carnival Explorer Voyage and from $5,049 for the 26-day segment.

There’s literally SO much more to experience too!  We couldn’t fit all the amazing itineraries into one blog post!
