Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will join Crystal Symphony Black Sea Cruise

Master Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will offer special ‘Omakase’ dinners onboard Crystal Symphony during ‘Bounties of the Black Sea’ Voyage.

Master Chef Nobu Matsuhis is one of the best-known fusion chefs, famous for blending traditional Japanese flavours with South American tastes.  His menus have drawn customers from all around the world.  So when Crystal Cruises announced they were teaming up with the famed chef earlier this month, it captured the interest of many food-lovers.

Nobu Matsuhisa will be on hand to cook for the lucky holidaymakers onboard Crystal Symphony’s Rome-Istanbul Black Sea voyage in summer this year. He will also be joined by Fumio Hazu, a famed Sake Master, who will be sharing his valued experience during the amazing gourmet meals onboard the ship.

Activities:

Holidaymakers onboard Crystal Symphony will be able to enjoy two exclusive  Japanese ‘Omakase’ (or to give them their more familiar name ‘Chef’s Choice’ dinners). These will be held in the restaurant Silk Road and are very intimate, with only 70 diners catered for each time.

Nobu has put on some of his most famous dishes on the menu, including white sturgeon caviar and Hokusetsu ‘Musical Sake’.  Holidaymakers can also indulge in fantastic Sake tasting sessions and learn about how the delicious drink is made. Fumio Hazu will also be revealing his unique techniques, including how playing Japanese music to the bottled Sake produces a smooth taste from the effect of the vibrations. Other demonstrations are carried out by Nobu himself, who will be instructing passengers about how to create their own versions of his delicious food. Nobu will also be on hand in the Silk Road and The Sushi Bar to meet diners during their meals to make sure that they enjoy their special experience! Finally, if you want a memento of your time onboard, there will be plenty of photo opportunities and cookbook signings!

To ensure a fantastic and unforgettable culinary experience onboard this cruise, Nobu will be bringing his personally-trained chefs to help prepare his menus and passengers will even be able to use his signature dinnerware! The restaurants will be open nearly every evening during the cruise and some meals will be available in a room-service form for those passengers who have booked Crystal’s Penthouse deck accommodation with signature Butler service.

In terms of the cruise itinerary, the ‘Bounties of the Black Sea’ voyage onboard Crystal Symphony will visit Civitavecchia, a Roman port, then Sorrento, Sicily, Constanta, Romania, making an overnight stop in Odessa. The ship then moves to Yalta, Sochi and makes another overnight stop in Istanbul.
